The Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate Diploma at George Brown College is a unique program in Canada, offering an intensive combination of feminist anti-oppressive counselling and political action courses that include the skills of support and activism needed to advocate for women and other gender marginalized people, their children, and their communities.
Graduates from the Social Service Worker diploma may qualify for direct entry to year two of the Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Counsellor/Advocate Diploma. Applicants are required to complete a questionnaire and interview and well as provide a portfolio of previous learning and experience. Official transcripts are required as proof of graduation.
