Semesters Remaining
Course Equivalencies Granted
Eligible applicants will be awarded by the receiving program an agreed number of academic credits in the Police Foundations Diploma program, equivalent to approximately 50% of the program credits.
Grade equivalencies are addressed by this transfer pathway agreement as follows:
• Transfer credit granted may include specific transfer credits and exemptions. Transfer credit will typically be recorded on the receiving college transcript in terminology such as “transfer credit” or “exemption” rather than a grade.
• Calculation of the cumulative GPA is at the discretion of the receiving college. Please discuss with the transfer advisor.
• Transfer credit will not impact GPA calculations or calculations for term or graduating recognition at the receiving college.
NOTE: Fanshawe’s School of Public Safety is committed to supporting credit transfer and student mobility. There may be differences in the number of credits granted based on variations in Police Foundations programs across Ontario. Fanshawe will work to maximize the academic credit granted to students transferring under this agreement and in most cases, students will not be required to exceed the semesters remaining to complete the credential with Fanshawe College, however, there might be exceptions to this rule based on curriculum alignment with the sending institution.
Requirements
To qualify for transfer from the first year of an Ontario College Police Foundations diploma to the second year of the same diploma at another college, students must:
• have successfully completed all courses in year one of the Police Foundations diploma program (the first 2 academic terms)
• meet any other admissions requirements of the receiving college.
Admissions will be subject to the processes of the college being applied to. Where application numbers exceed the capacity of any college, additional selection and approval requirements may apply. Student application will be through the Ontario College Application System and must conform to the published timelines, www.ontariocolleges.ca
