Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the Compressed Nursing program, students must have the following:
- Minimum average of 70% calculated on the last 10 university full-course equivalents (two years of an undergraduate degree program)
- One university semester of the following:
- Biology (minimum 60%)
- Chemistry (minimum 60%)
- English (minimum 60%)*
- Math (minimum 60%)
- 1.0 credit in an Introductory Psychology course**
- 2.0 full credits at the 1000 level (four first year university courses)
- 1.0 full credit at the 2000 level (two second year courses)
*The English requirement can be waived for applicants with two or more years of full-time study at college or one or more years of full-time study at university where the language of instruction was English.
**For admission consideration, Introductory Psychology courses must have been completed within the past ten years. Applicants with sufficient additional transfer credit (ie. 1.0 third or fourth year elective transfer credits) may have the Psychology course requirement waived for admission.
Note:
- Applicants can meet the prerequisite subjects through a combination of secondary, college, and university subjects. Prerequisite courses should have been taken within the past 10 years.
- Admission to the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing is competitive, and as a result, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
- Students without sufficient transfer credits to be eligible for the Compressed Nursing program may be eligible for the 4-year Collaborative Nursing program.

The Compressed Nursing Program at Trent University is a 28-month accelerated pathway to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) for students with prior post-secondary education. Students complete course work over 8 semesters, including summer sessions.
Credits left to complete at Trent University are dependent on transfer credits received. Students are referred to the Compressed Course Map and nursingadvising@trentu.ca for more information.
