To qualify for this agreement, students must have:

  • Successfully completed Durham College's Practical Nursing Diploma program within the last five years;
  • A minimum overall average of 75%;
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (waived for students who have graduated from the Practical Nursing Diploma program within the last six months).

*Additional notes: Admission to the Nursing degree program is competitive. As a result, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

*Additional notes: 

  • The Compressed Nursing degree is offered over 28 consecutive months. In Years 1 and 2, students will attend studies in all three semesters (fall, winter and spring/summer). In year 3, students complete their final semester in the fall.
  • The Nursing degree programs is only offered on a full-time basis.
  • The Trent/Fleming School of Nursing also offers a Collaborative Nursing degree program. This program is offered on a full-time basis over four years, with the option to complete studies in three-and-a-half y ears. Students who are interested in the Collaborative Nursing degree program will have a lightened course load but will not be eligible to fast-track through the program.

Cancellation Policy

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
