Program Transfer Search

Students beginning in the Biotechnology Advanced Diploma program since Fall 2022 will receive the following 8.0 credits: 

• 0.5 BIOL 1030H – Foundations of Cellular and Molecular Biology
• 0.5 BIOL-CHEM 2300H – Biochemical Concepts
• 0.5 CHEM 1000H – Introductory Chemistry I
• 0.5 CHEM 1010H – Introductory Chemistry II
• 0.5 CHEM 2410H – Introductory Analytical Chemistry I
• 0.5 CHEM 2410H – Introductory Analytical Chemistry II
• 0.5 CHEM 3400H – Chromatography
• 0.5 INDG 1001H – The Foundation for Reconciliation
• 0.5 unassigned Biology credit at the 2000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Biology credit at the 3000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Math credit at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level
• 0.5 unassigned Science credit at the 3000 level
• 1.5 unassigned Science credits at the 1000 level

Transfer credits for students beginning studies in the Biotechnology Advanced Diploma program prior to Fall 2022 will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

To qualify for this agreement, students must have: 

• Successfully completed Durham College’s Biotechnology – Advanced Diploma; 
• A minimum overall average of 75%.

*Additional notes: Students transferring to Trent University through this pathway are also eligible to apply to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Honours) provided they complete two semesters of Biology, Chemistry and Math with a minimum cumulative average of 65% in each subject area.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
