Graduates of the Mechanical Engineering Technology Ontario College Advanced Diploma with a minimum CGPA of 2.7 (B-, 70%) will be eligible for admission to the 2nd year of the 4 year degree. Students can expect to complete their degree in an additional 3 years after completing their Ontario College Advanced Diploma. This program is available in-class.

Graduates from an Ontario College Pre-Health Sciences program must meet Algoma University admission requirements which requires successful completion of the one-year certificate with a minimum overall average of B (70%; 3.0) or higher to be eligible for the maximum credit recognition.

Graduates of an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology Practical Nursing program must meet Algoma University admission requirements, which requires successful completion of the two-year diploma with a minimum overall average of B (3.0 GPA) or higher to be eligible for the maximum credit recognition.

To be considered for an offer of admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, you must complete your two-year Practical Nursing Diploma with an overall average of at least 70%. Given the competitiveness of the program, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. The cutoff averages tend to be higher than 70%.   

In addition, you must satisfy the following prerequisite requirements with a final grade of at least 60%:

• Ontario high school's Grade 12 University-level English (ENG4U) or equivalent, 
• Ontario high school's Grade 12 University-level Biology (SBI4U) or equivalent,
• Ontario high school's Grade 12 University-level Chemistry (SCH4U) or equivalent, and
• Ontario high school's Grade 12 University-level Mathematics (MCV4U, MDM4U, or MHF4U) or equivalent.

Your communications and anatomy courses tend to satisfy the English and biology prerequisite requirements, assuming you achieve the required minimum grade.

Graduates of the 2-year diploma in Police Foundations with an overall GPA of 65 percent or higher may be considered for admission to the four year Bachelor of Social Science - Criminal Justice degree. Successful applicants may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus one work term. Successful applicants must also possess ENG4U or Humber's WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of 65 per cent.

Graduates of the 2-year diploma in Protection, Security and Investigation with an overall GPA of 65 percent or higher may be considered for admission to the four year Bachelor of Social Science - Criminal Justice degree. Successful applicants may then complete the degree with the equivalent of five semesters of full-time study plus one work term. Successful applicants must also possess ENG4U or Humber's WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of 65 per cent.

Community and Justice Diploma graduates with an overall GPA of 65 per cent or higher may be considered for admission to the four year Bachelor of Social Science-Criminal Justice Degree. Successful applicants may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus one work term. Successful applicants must also possess ENG4U or Humber's WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of 65 per cent.

Graduates of the Child and Youth Care program must meet Algoma University admission requirements, which requires successful completion of the three-year advanced diploma with a minimum overall average of 3.00 (70%) or higher to be eligible for credit recognition. This agreement will begin starting with 2023 spring graduates. 

Graduates of the Social Service Worker program from an accredited Ontario College must meet Algoma University admission requirements which requires successful completion of the two-year diploma with a minimum overall average of B (70%; 3.0) or higher to be eligible for the maximum credit recognition. Graduates of the program must have achieved a minimum grade of 60% in all courses taken. College graduates who apply to the Bachelor of Social Work program are not guaranteed admission to the professional years (honours) and will be required to apply to the professional years.

Graduates of a two year Ontario College Social Service Worker Diploma program with a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0 and any specified prerequisites.  Applicants must also submit a personal information document that will assist in the evaluation.  Information about the additional requirements and deadlines are available on the admissions website:

Accepted students may enter the Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) program after completing a two-year Diploma in Protection, Security & Investigations (formerly Law and Security Administration) from any Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology. Students that graduated from the former Law and Security Administration program also fall under this transfer credit pathway.

Graduates from Computer Programming Ontario College Diploma with Grade Point Averages of 2.7 (70%, B-) and who successfully complete the bridging requirements QUA2000 Statistics, CST3113 Enterprise Application Development, and ACC4101 Financial Accounting are eligible to enter into Year 3, Level 5 of the degree program.

Graduates from Computer Engineering Technology – Computing Science with Grade Point Averages of 2.7 (70%, B-) and who successfully complete the bridging requirements QUA2000 Statistics, CST3113 Enterprise Application Development, and ACC4101 Financial Accounting are eligible to enter into Year 3, Level 5 of the degree program.

Graduates of Computer Programming, Ontario College Diploma, with Grade Point Averages of 2.7 (70%, B-) are eligible to enter into Year 2, Level 3 of the degree program.

Graduates of Computer Engineering Technology – Computing Science, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, with Grade Point Averages of 2.7 (70%, B-) are eligible to enter into Year 2, Level 3 of the degree program.

Regardless of the level at which a student was originally admitted into the diploma program and/or the admission standard at the time, students will be accepted for transfer based on their successful completion of the required first year of the Ontario College Business - Accounting Diploma program at the point of transfer.
Each transfer student must complete the Business -Accounting Diploma in seven (7) years from date of admission of the initial program (sending institution).

To qualify for transfer from the first year of an Ontario College Business - Accounting Advanced Diploma to the second year of an Ontario College Business - Accounting Diploma offered by another college, the student must:

• have completed the first year of the Ontario College Business - Accounting Advanced Diploma
• meet any other admissions requirements of the receiving college
