Pathway Admission Requirements

Students who have graduated from a 2 year Fitness and Health Promotion diploma program with a minimum GPA of 65% are eligible to enter the 3rd semester of the Honours Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation degree in the Fall term and will complete the program in 6 semesters plus 1 work integrated learning term.

How to apply:

Domestic students will be required to submit an application via Ontario Colleges Application Service (OCAS) and select “degree completion” as their entry semester.  Official transcripts showing diploma completion and a final program GPA must be submitted.

International students will apply to the degree via Seneca’s International Student Web Application, and follow up with their Admissions Advisor regarding their pathway eligibility.  The student will need their Seneca application confirmation number when they reach out to their advisor.  Official transcripts showing diploma completion and a final program GPA must be submitted.

Pathway Admission Requirements

Graduates of the two-year Ontario College Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from any Ontario College with a minimum 75% cumulative average are eligible for admissions into various Honours undergraduate programs in multiple majors within the Faculty of Human & Social Sciences and Faculty of Liberal Arts at Laurier's Brantford Campus, and Faculty of Arts at Laurier's Waterloo campus. Graduates are also eligible for admission into BA Psychology on Laurier's Waterloo and Milton campus. Graduates with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 65% or more may be considered for admission. Graduates may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus a work term. Successful applicants must also complete:

  • ENG4U or Humber's WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a minimum grade of 65 per cent

 

Admission will be based on availability in the program.

*The advanced standing outlined is a general guideline. Diploma graduates may be required to take courses in lower semesters in order to meet the overall degree learning outcomes.
