• 0.5 CUST MDST -1535H - Introduction to Media Studies
• 1.0 MDST-CUST 2035Y - Media and Society
• 0.5 unassigned Philosophy credit at the 1000 level
• 1.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level
• 2.0 unassigned Arts credits at the 2000 level
• 1.5 additional credits based on elective choices:
  • 0.5 PSYC 1020H - Introduction to Psychology Part I: Experimental and Biological Bases of Behaviour (for students who have completed GNED 1106)
  • 0.5 SOCI 1001H - Introduction to Sociology I: Critical Foundations (for students who have completed GNED 1407)
  • 0.5 unassigned Cultural Studies credit at the 1000 level (for students who have completed GNED 1404)
  • 0.5 unassigned Sociology credit at the 1000 level (for students who have completed GNED 1411)
  • 0.5 unassigned Sociology credit at the 1000 level (for students who have completed GNED 1426)
  • 0.5 unassigned Arts credit at the 1000 level (for students who have completed GNED 1401)

To qualify for this agreement, students must have:
- successfully completed Durham College's Journalism - Web and Print program;
- a minimum overall average of 75%.

Program Residency Requirement

Students must complete the following 13.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Media Studies degree: 

• 0.5 MDST-COIS 1010H - The Digital World
• 1.0 Media Studies credit at the 4000 level
• 6.0 additional credits from the Media Studies course list
• 5.5 additional credits, including at least 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List

*NOTE: Media Studies and elective credits without specified year levels must include at least 6.0 credits at the 3000 level or above and no more than 2.5 credits at the 1000 level.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
