Articulation Agreement between The University of Western Ontario’s Bachelor of Science (Foods and Nutrition), Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics, Honours Specialization in Foods and Nutrition or Specialization in Foods in Nutrition and 

Fanshawe College (Nutrition and Food Service Management diploma), April 2026

1. Western agrees to consider for admission to the Bachelor of Science (Foods and Nutrition): Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics, or Honours Specialization in Foods and Nutrition, or Specialization in Foods and Nutrition program graduates of the Nutrition and Food Service Management diploma program from Fanshawe who meet the following requirements: 

•   a. Successful completion of the Nutrition and Food Service Management diploma with a competitive overall admission average for the year in which they apply as calculated by Western; 
•   b. Completion of the prescribed set of courses within the Nutrition and Food Service Management diploma with a minimum grade of “C” or 2.00 GPA or 60% in each college course as outlined in Appendix 1; and 
•   c. Successful completion of Ontario Secondary School Functions (MCF3M or MCR3U), Biology (SBI4U) and Chemistry (SCH4U); or equivalents. 

2. To be considered for admission, Fanshawe students must apply to Western by March 1 st of the year in which they are seeking admission. 

3. Admissions decisions are within the sole discretion of Western and are not appealable. Applicants who meet the requirements set out above are not guaranteed admission under this Agreement. The decision as to the number of students who will be accepted in any academic year may vary from year to year. Final determination of the validity of all admissions under this agreement rests with the Registrar at Western in accordance with the provisions of the affiliation agreement between Western.

(a) This Agreement is effective April 2026 and shall continue in force unless terminated by a party as set out herein. 

(b) Any party may terminate this Agreement upon three months’ written notice of termination to the other parties. No applicants will be considered for admission after the date of such notice. 

(c) Notwithstanding paragraph (b), if Western decides to terminate this Agreement due to changes to the Fanshawe’s curriculum or course content, this Agreement shall terminate on a date that is the earlier of three months after written notice of termination is given to Fanshawe and the date that the changes were made by Fanshawe. 

(d) Students accepted for admission under this Agreement prior to issuance of a notice of termination shall be permitted to complete their studies under the terms of this Agreement.
