Students who began studies in the Horticulture Food and Farming Diploma program prior to Fall 2022 are encouraged to contact Trent University for information about transfer credits received as part of this pathway.

To qualify for this agreement, students must have:
-successfully completed Durham College's Horticulture - Food and Farming Technician Diploma program;
-a minimum overall average of 75%.

Students are required to complete the following 15.0 credits to fulfill requirements for the Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems degree:
- 0.5 SAFS 2500H - The World Food System
- 0.5 SAFS 3002H - Environmental Implications of Agriculture; or 3530H - Crop Physiology
- 0.5 SAFS 3560H - Soil Science; or SAFS 3650H - Soil Management and Conservation
- 0.5 BIOL 1020H - Foundations of Biodiversity
- 0.5 BIOL 2260H - Introductory Ecology
- 0.5 ERSC 1010H - Environmental Science and Sustainability
- 0.5 ERSC 2220H - Environmental Assessment: Chemical and Laboratory Methods
- 0.5 ERSC 2240H - Ecological Assessment for Natural Resource Management
- 1.0 credit from the following:
- 0.5 ERSC 4350H - Climatic Change
- 0.5 ERSC 4520H - Restoration Ecology
- 0.5 ERSC 4530H - Remediation and Reclamation of Sites

- Courses without specified year levels must include at least 3.0 credits at the 3000 and/or 4000 level(s), and no more than 3.5 credits at the 1000 level. Choice credits must also include at least 4.5 science credits for the Bachelor of Science (Honours).
- Trent University also offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems. Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) differ from those listed above, and students interested in this option are referred to the Academic Calendar for further details.

The agreement will be reviewed annually, or sooner in the event of major curriculum changes in either partner’s programs. This agreement may be terminated by either party. In this case, notice of one year is required. In the event of termination of the agreement, every effort will be made to ensure that students currently enrolled in the program will not be affected.
