With our articulation agreements, you will benefit from a generous credit transfer with a minimal average of 3,2 or 80%: 

Required Grade and/or GPA (Transfer Credit Eligibility)

Provides students with the minimum grade and/or GPA required for transfer credit eligibility.

The minimum cumulative GPA for students from a college is 2.4 or C +.

The minimum cumulative GPA for students from a university is 4 or C.

Course Equivalencies, Pathways and Articulation Agreements

Provides students with available course equivalency, pathway, and articulation agreement materials for planning purposes.

Joint admission with Northern College:

Students who identify as Francophone or have studied in French (including French immersion) at the secondary level, entering Northern College in one of the listed programs in our articulation agreements, will receive a joint admission and a conditional letter of acceptance from Université de Hearst. Residency Requirements

Provides students with the amount of study they must complete in order to be awarded the credential in which they are enrolled.

Students must complete at least 30 credits at Université de Hearst, usually the last 30 credits of their program.

Currency/Timing of Previous Postsecondary Education

Provides students with an indicator of the currency required to utilize their previously completed postsecondary education for transfer credit.

Université de Hearst will consider all courses for transfer credit, regardless of currency.

PLAR Procedures/Steps

Provides students with the procedures/steps they must follow in order to receive a PLAR assessment.

When applying for admission to our B.A.A. - Administration des affaires et gestion, our B.A - gestion, or for a second degree, you may take a voluntary exam for ADMN 1106. If you pass the exam with a grade of 70% or higher, you will earn the credits.

PLAR Costs

Provides students with the cost of completing a PLAR assessment (challenge exam, course challenge, portfolio, etc.).

The voluntary exam costs $ 100.

Appearance of Awarded Transfer Credit(s) on Transcript

Provides students with the code(s) used to record transfer credits on their transcript and an indication of whether these credits will be included in GPA calculation.

Transfer credits will be recorded on your Université de Hearst transcript in a distinct section and will not be included in your cumulative GPA calculation.

Provides students with a reference to official credit transfer policies outlined in academic regulations/directives documents, calendars, and handbooks.

 

Transfer Credit Procedures/Steps

Provides students with the procedures/steps they must follow in order to receive a transfer credit assessment.

Follow these steps in order to receive your transfer credit assessment at Université de Hearst:

  • Apply online to Université de Hearst through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) at www.ouac.on.ca.
  • Please note that in this electronic application process you will find the list of programs of Université de Hearst under Laurentian University, to which it is affiliated.
  • University of Hearst will contact you directly to acknowledge receipt of your application file and send you a conditional offer, if you are eligible. From this point forward, you will be able to accept our online offer on OUAC.
  • Please note that the analysis and determination of equivalencies is done at the same time as the application.
  • Please contact your previous institution to arrange for your official transcript(s) from high school, college or university to be forwarded to our Office of Admissions.

Transfer Credit Costs

Provides students with the cost of completing a transfer credit assessment (advanced standing, exemption, etc.).

There is no fee required for a transfer credit assessment at Université de Hearst.

Transfer Credit Required Documentation

Provides students with a listing of the documentation they must submit to have their previously completed postsecondary education assessed for transfer credit.

The documentation required for postsecondary education assessment for credit transfer at Université de Hearst includes: 

  • Official transcript(s)
  • Course outline(s) (must be provided upon request)

Transfer Credit Application Form(s)

Provides students with a copy of the transfer credit application form or link to the online submission tool (where applicable).

An application form for transfer credit is not required at Université de Hearst. Applicants who have previously attended a post-secondary institution will automatically be assessed for credit recognition.

Deadline(s) for Application

Provides students with the deadline by which they must apply for transfer credit.

One of the perks of the block plan; it’s possible to register at any time and any given block.

Timing of Transfer Credit Decisions

Provides students with an expectation regarding the time it takes to process a transfer credit decision.

Conditional credit recognition decisions are typically provided with your admission offer at University of Hearst. In some cases, a list of transferred credits will be provided shortly after the admission offer.

Credit equivalency is conditional on the successful completion of the courses and the minimum average required.

Review/Appeal Procedures

Provides students with the process for appealing a transfer credit decision.

A transfer credit decision cannot be reviewed or appealed at Université de Hearst. All credit transfer assessments are final.
