Residency RequirementsProvides students with the amount of study they must complete in order to be awarded the credential in which they are enrolled. |
The amount of transfer credit you can receive is limited by the University of Windsor's residency policy. The policy states that at least 10 courses (30 semester hours) numbered 200 or higher in a degree must be completed at the University. These 10 courses must include at least 6 courses from the major course requirements to qualify for a 3 year major degree. Ten courses from the major course requirements are necessary to qualify for a 4 year Honours, major or professional degree, with the exception of the Faculty of Engineering, which requires at least 50% of the total number of weighted units required for the Bachelor of Applied Science be completed at the University. Double majors are required to take at least 5 courses at the 200-level or above from the major course requirements in each of the majors at the University. To qualify for a minor, at least 3 courses counting toward the minor must be completed at the University. The following exceptions apply in the Faculty of Business Administration: i. 10 Business courses (30 semester hours) numbered 300 or higher to qualify in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Business Administration) degree; ii. 8 Business courses (24 semester hours) plus 2 Computer Science courses (6 semester hours) numbered 300 or higher to qualify in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Business Administration and Computer Science) degree; iii. 8 Business courses (24 semester hours) plus 2 Economics courses (6 semester hours) numbered 300 or higher to qualify in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Business Administration and Economics) degree; iv. 8 Business courses (24 semester hours) numbered 300 or higher, plus 2 language courses (6 semester hours) numbered 200 or higher to qualify in a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours International Business) degree; v. 10 courses (30 semester hours) numbered 200 or higher to qualify in a Honours Bachelor of Commerce (for university graduates) degree. |
