Pathway Details
Terms for renewal or cancellation
The University of Guelph will review transfer pathways periodically, introducing new amendments as appropriate. Any change to this pathway will not affect current students. Students enrolled at the University of Guelph at the time of any change shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the original terms of this transfer pathway.
Eligibility for Pathway
If you have graduated from the Biotechnology Technician 2-year diploma or the Biotechnology Technologist Advanced 3-year diploma then you may be eligible to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph in less than three years of full time study!
Admission Requirements:
- A minimum 75% (B) overall average upon completion of the Biotechnology Technologist Advanced 3-year diploma or the Biotechnology Technician 2-year diploma.
- Successful completion of Grade 12U Advanced Functions or equivalent course(s) offered by your college.
Credit transfer
Eligible applicants from the Biotechnology Technician 2-year diploma will be awarded 7.50 transfer credits. That is equivalent to 1.5 full-time years (3 semesters) of study at the University of Guelph.
Eligible applicants from the Biotechnology Technologist Advanced 3-year diploma will be awarded between 7.5 and 10.0 transfer credits. That is equivalent to between 1.5 full-time years (3 semesters) and 2 full-time years (4 semesters) of study at the University of Guelph.
Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution
Depending on the degree program you enter, you may be required to complete between 10.0 and 12.5 credits at the University of Guelph. For more information regarding the courses required for a specific major, please contact the B.Sc. Academic Counselling Centre at bscweb@uoguelph.ca
