Pathway Details

Terms for renewal or cancellation

The University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) will review this transfer pathway periodically, introducing new amendments as appropriate. Any change to this pathway will not affect current students. Students enrolled at UOIT at the time of any change shall be allowed to complete their degree based on the original terms of this transfer pathway.

Eligibility for Pathway

Graduates with a two- or three-year advanced Ontario college diploma, with a minimum mid-70s average, will be considered for admission.

NOTE: Graduates of an Ontario College diploma in the following: Business Administration Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, or Operations consult the Commerce Bridge ONTransfer IDs - 2170, 2711, 2712 and 2723. Graduates of an Ontario College Advanced diploma in the following: Business Administration - Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance or Operations consult the Direct entry - Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) ONTransfer IDs - 2139, 2703, 2704, 2705, 2706, 2707, 2708.

Students will be required to complete five bridge courses listed below with a minimum "C" grade in each course to continue in the program.
   -BUSI 1010U: Critical Thinking and Ethics;
   -BUSI 1101U: Financial Accounting;
   -BUSI 1915U: Business Math I;
   -BUSI 2311U: Organizational Behaviour; and
   -BUSI 2401U: Finance I.

Admission is competitive. The specific average or standing required for admission varies from year to year. Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance. Preference will be given to applicants with the best qualifications.

Credit transfer

Accepted students are eligible for third year standing in the Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), comprehensive program after successful completion of the Commerce Bridge, in addition will receive a block of 45 unspecified transfer credit hours toward the 120 credit hours required for a UOIT degree.

The following transfer credits towards the UOIT program will be granted:
   -UNSP 1XXX: Unspecified credit @ 45 credit hours (15 courses).

Credits that must be achieved at the receiving institution

25 courses (75 credits) must be completed at UOIT:
   -five bridge courses (15 credits); and
   -20 addition required and elective courses (60 credits).

Anticipated normal schedule of student progression

Spring/summer (May) intake - five academic semesters: one semester of 5 bridge courses (15 credits) then 4 additional semesters or 2 academic years (20 courses or 60 credit hours) containing a combination of core business courses and electives.
